Doctor Jim Watson is an exceptionally well qualified orthodontic specialist. To become a specialist in orthodontics Dr. Watson had to complete four years of college at BYU followed by four years of dental school training at Marquette University, after which he received a doctorate degree in dental surgery DDS in 1994. Dr. Watson continued his training in Hawaii at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu where he was one of the chief residents in the department of surgery in 1995. Following his hospital training Dr. Watson was selected from a highly competitive national field for a position at the University of Pennsylvania Orthodontic Specialty Residency Program. The University of Pennsylvania or PENN program is one of only three Ivy League orthodontic programs in the country and only accepts six residents per year. PENN has an international reputation for excellence and after completing the two year post-doctoral clinical and hospital based program at PENN in 1997, Dr. Watson went into private practice as a Specialist in Orthodontics.
Dr. Watson is currently the only Ivy League American Board of Orthodontics Board Certified Orthodontist in the North Houston area. This may be one of the reasons why so many of our patients are the children and spouses of the medical and dental professionals in the area. We look forward to seeing your family and loved ones so that you can experience the positively wonderful changes that orthodontic treatment from a well qualified specialist can make in their lives and yours.
Dr. Watson is married to his lovely wife Lisa and they are the parents of three children Courtney, Jimmy, and Kylie. You are likely to meet one or more of the family members as they are frequent visitors to the office and love to watch other kids get cool colors on their teeth try on Dad’s mask and gloves. Dr. Watson is also an eight year volunteer announcer/DJ and sponsor for the Texas NWAL swim teams and is also the cubscout master for troop #332 of the Boy Scouts of America
